Process Engineer

 

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

The Process Engineer is responsible for the process performance and continuous improvement of assigned areas within the Concord manufacturing facility. As project leader, this position will influence and impact employee safety, process optimization, and talent development. 

 

Reports to:  Operations Leader

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Living the Safety stand and adhering to safety responsibilities

Ensures a safe, clean and environmentally compliant work environment, and builds a culture where safety is the number one priority. Investigates injuries, first aids and near misses Implement proactive safety precautions via hazard recognition and control Lead Learning from Incident investigations

 Delivery to Customer and Business

Design and modify production processes capable of safely producing parts and products that meet customer specifications on schedule and within budget Connect upstream and downstream processes to meet production demands aligning talent requirements, raw material needs and machine capacities Performs root cause analysis in partnership with key stakeholders to address quality issues, and resolves process interruptions in a timely manner Partners with the maintenance staff to optimize the efficiency of plant equipment Manages projects that delivers cost effective solutions  Partner with key stakeholders to scale enterprise initiatives

Collaboration and Teamwork

Implements a standard to which team members will collaboratively own the success of the business by meeting or exceeding targets related to safety, quality, cost, and productivity Provides process area performance data to business partners, and initiates/supports actions that drives continuous improvement Provides process compliance input on primary team member performance reviews Implements and documents corrective action when process abnormalities occur

Leads Continuous Improvement Activities

Serve as pillar leader to advance technical levels of expertise Leverages standard work to minimize variation and waste Embraces TPM and Leads focused Improvement activities to improve process capability and efficiencies, reduce costs, and eliminate waste Partners with relevant stakeholders to optimize process and drive continuous improvement initiatives Participates in and leads Kaizen and 5S events in various work areas throughout plant

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s of Science degree required in Engineering or relevant degree preferred Minimum of 2 years with demonstrated technical responsibilities/accomplishments Proficient in Microsoft Office products

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Demonstrated experience in sustaining and improving plant safety In-depth knowledge and understanding of manufacturing work processes and procedures Strong technical acumen related to manufacturing processes or production equipment Demonstrated success utilizing continuous improvement tools Demonstrated ability to assess performance gaps and problem solve Demonstrated ability to track and utilize data when making decisions necessary to resolve unplanned situations Project management capabilities to include creating business cases utilizing data and resources in collaboration with the team Works well as part of a team and within a matrixed organization, strong verbal and written communication skills and good listening and comprehension skills Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills Willing to work off shifts and/or weekends as needed Self-motivated, metric and data driven, and works with integrity
