We have an opportunity for a Process Engineer to join our Moorpark, CA team. You will be responsible for developing and qualifying the processes at the injection molding machines for new mold validations, troubleshooting or improvements. This role is responsible for supporting lean manufacturing activities, independently diagnosing equipment issues, and integrating improved production practices for safety and capacity by implementing cost improvement ideas.
You will:
Develop and improve molding processes for new or existing products by supporting production on a daily basis.Create standard operating procedures for new or existing products.Manage and execute all new mold validations through our molding test request process by creating the proper documentation to support ongoing production with IM VSM and Tool Room Manager.Prepare all specifications of all plastic processes by executing all gages to maintain optimal quality for our 24/7 injection molding and assembly operation. Support IM VSM by managing all cost requests for all improvement projects to improve Safety and Quality for not only our customers, but our associates.Evaluate all alternatives and consolidations of plastic resins for existing or new product development.Validate processes for part quality and cycle times in order to reduce scrap and improve productivity by adhering to our specified requirements by driving root cause analysis.Support the Quality Engineers by responding to internal or external part or process non-conformities by completing all required paperwork for product quality.Provide engineering feedback by communicating closely with IM VSM and other managers regarding our internal process controls.Provide guidance to operators, set up/ process technicians and shift leads pertain to part quality.Adhere to the Pentair Quality Management System and focus on continuous improvements based on current set ups as well as maintenance opportunities.Key Qualifications:
Have earned an associate or bachelor’s degree. Certification plus experience will be considered as well.Have 5+ years of experience as a hands-on contributor working in Injection MoldingExperience with mold and machine set up.Strong knowledge on process development and troubleshooting (Scientific molding principles)Experience deploying Continuous Flow Manufacturing, lean principles, and statistic control.Working knowledge of part inspection, SPC, test methods and associated equipment.Capable of writing detailed technical specifications to ensure process and product capability, set-up, and calibration procedures, and support the development and implementation of equipment standards to insure ease of operation, safety, and maintainability.For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $67,000 - 120,000 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs. Actual compensation may be otherwise adjusted if the position if filled outside of the intended geographic location.
