Process Engineer

As the Process Engineer, you will help guide excellence in our manufacturing processes, improve production, ensure quality standards, and contribute to our mission of shaping the future of aerospace. This position is located onsite in our Sylmar, CA. facility. You will report to the Coatings Technical Manager.
 

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for measuring, documenting, and improving current manufacturing process capabilities.

Perform assignments often requiring development of new or improved products, processes, or techniques, and may assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests, products, and equipment

Continuous improvement; use data-driven approach to implement improvements in the manufacturing areas for process stabilization, repeatability, control, efficiencies of labor, and time and cost reduction in scrap and rework

Create process flow maps, support manufacturing operators with tools and equipment, with all necessary documentation

Manage technical documents, Bills of Operation/Bills of Material (BOO/BOM), process specifications, and oversee production process changes and procedures

Maintaining or defining quality management standard including creating and reviewing SPC charts for robust quality control

Utilization of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DOE, FMEA, and value stream mapping

Qualifications

US Citizen

Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in a STEM or related field with two or more (2+) years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering (or equivalent) required

Knowledge of vacuum coatings, organic coatings, laser ablation, photolithography, electroplating, CNC, automation, and/or robotics preferred

Microsoft Project and SolidWorks experience preferred

Ability to travel up to 10%

Salary Range $75,000-95,000 plus annual bonus
