Cabot has an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer to initiate activities, procedures, and projects that improve product quality, optimize production capacity, ensure equipment reliability, provide capital improvements, integrate new technology and practices, and optimize overall performance. 

We are seeking a fully qualified and experienced engineer who can manage/lead projects. The Process Engineer will work on-site at the Franklin, La plant.

How You Will Make an Impact

In this role, your primary duty modify/develop new response flows, develop and implement improved robust process control/process control strategy.  Additionally, develop basic scope and data for engineered projects, including modification/development of P&IDs and PFDs. This role requires a safety mind-set, self-motivated person with a positive attitude, a ton of good energy, effective time management, organization, and recordkeeping skills. A successful candidate will be someone who can:

Safety: Ensure the safety compliance of the plant utilities and operating units within the plant. Exhibit safe behaviors within the plant and promote the behavioral safety systems with others. Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management by updating operating procedures, assisting in training of unit operators and leading the Management of Change process.Environmental: Ensure the environmental compliance of the plant utilities and operating units within the plant. Monitor and track plant emissions to ensure permit compliance. Ensure new installations meet environmental requirements through the Management of Change process. Investigate processes and procedures which can reduce the environmental footprint of the plant and implement changes to do so.Quality: Monitor and track the quality performance of the plant utilities. Respond to quality upsets and work to provide corrective actions as needed. Own assigned customer complaints: determine root cause, develop corrective action plan and work with technical service to ensure customer validation/closure occurs. Productivity/Continuous Improvement: Monitor and track plant efficiencies in materials and energy usage. Use continuous improvement techniques, to identify opportunities and implement process and procedure changes to increase plant efficiency.Projects support: Provide technical support to the implementation of projects for the plant utilities and operating units, for basic and detail engineering. Ensure that commissioning and startup is provided. What You Will Bring to Cabot Education: Post-secondary Chemical Engineering degree (Bachelor’s/University) and generally 2 years’ production experience in a specialty chemical industry or petrochemical industry.  Technical Excellence:  Basic knowledge of chemistry.  Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools and principals.  Experience with Analytical problem-solving methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, failure mode analysis) as well as Quality Management principles.  Ensures compliance with all standards, regulations, and industry best practices (OSHA, RC14001, ISO 9001, PSM).    Communication & Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively engage in verbal and written communications that are timely, concise, clear, and relevant while delivering with empathy with a broad range of stakeholders.Computers Skills:  Excellent skills with Microsoft Office, Aspen IP.21, AutoCAD, and data analysis. Experience in process control with Honeywell Experion, HPM, or Delta V.Guide Results: Generates data, conducts analysis, and organizes and interprets data to establish and support equipment.Works Safely:  Strictly follows and complies with all SH&E procedures, standards and regulations and constantly strives for Excellence in the fields of sustainability and Safety, Health, and preservation of the Environment.  Familiar with topics such as Process Safety Management (PSM), safe work permitting, lockout/tagout, emergency response, and hazard recognition.
