Process Engineer - CB3 - NM Job Description

Axalta Coating Systems is seeking an Solventborne  manufacturing process engineer to join our dynamic operations engineering team at our  Mt Clemens (MI) site.
 
 
Job Responsibilities
•         Learn the operating process(es) to which assigned

•         Learn the technology of the process(es) to which assigned

•         Provide technical oversight and support of day-to-day operations

•         Assist Operations and Maintenance with troubleshooting, root cause analysis and     

           Problem solving

•         Work with Operations to improve safety, yield, productivity and uptime

•         Identify and implements solutions to manufacturing issues related to technology

•         Assist in Operator Training

•         Knowledge of PSM (Process Technology, PHA, Management of Change, root

          cause failure analysis

•         Maintain up to date technology information for the manufacturing area

•         Lead manufacturing technology and productivity related improvements for the 

          production units.

•         Develop and applies knowledge for equipment check-out, process commissioning,  

           and troubleshooting of equipment problems

•         Develop and lead tests to support product development

•         Participate in and executes activities related to small capital projects

          (including commissioning, de-commissioning, start-up, shut down, etc.)

•         Network with global peers and leverages broader organization including R&D, 

          Marketing, etc…

•         Understand and conduct cost benefit analysis

Requirements:

BS degree in Chemical Engineering  with 2-3 years engineering experience, including intern experience.

Demonstrated ability to work and contribute in a team environment.Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Effective written and oral communication.Knowledge and use of designed experimentation and statistical data analysis.Basic knowledge of chemistry.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and/or support others in a team environment.

 
Experience in some or all of the following:  
 

Scale up and product introduction and alignment.Quality system requirements including TS-16949.Trouble shooting and process improvement.Quality and safety investigations and root cause failure analysis.General Process Control Systems for paint manufacturing process.Lean manufacturing
