Job Summary:
The Process Engineer is responsible for defining, documenting and controlling the production process necessary to manufacture forgings to customer requirements. This involves the review and implementation of all applicable customer specifications, drawings and purchase order requirements, as well as familiarity with all related McWilliams production operations and the application of data established during development trials.In addition, the Process Engineer is responsible for the implementing process improvements in all areas of the manufacturing process, i.e. cutting area, forge shop, machine shop, heat treat department and the non-destructive test area. Review and communicate production status reports Serve as point of contact between production and planning teams.General Functions:
- Draft, maintain and control manufacturing processes and work instructions
- Analyze manufacturing processes in saw shed, forge shop, machine shop, heat treat and NDT area using lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies.
- Draft, maintain and contro1 technical requirements for raw material purchases and outside vendor services
- Conduct technical review of customer purchase orders
- Quickly resolve engineering issues to keep production moving
