This is an entry level process engineer role in a manufacturing unit at the Narrows, VA Celanese facility as a process improvement engineer. This role will be a part of a technical team embedded in an operational unit. The engineer will be responsible for designing projects that improve safety, add capabilities, improve quality, or increase productivity. This role utilizes manufacturing data to identify and implement improvements.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with operations, technical and project engineers, ESHA, and manufacturing personnel.Deliver results for process improvement focused on cost reduction, efficiency, quality and safety.Scope, design, and continued involvement in the execution of projects.Model processes as part of the overall sizing/design processes.Develop flow schemes to determine mass and energy balances, control logic, and equipment specifications.Perform process PHA’s, MOC’s, RCA’s, FMEA’s, HAZOP’s.Conduct trials and produce process letters.Interact with internal and external experts, vendors, and consultants to develop and implement improvements.Provide technical guidance on areas of expertise to plant manufacturing and engineering organizations.Present findings clearly along with actionable recommendations. Qualifications:Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in any engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program with chemical engineering preferred.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Troubleshooting expertise and attention to detail.Ability to collect and analyze complex datasets.Strong communication and presentation abilities of complex information.Strong organizational and planning skills. Able to manage multiple and competing priorities and prioritize tasks appropriately.Excellent collaborator with cross functional teams.Process safety knowledge.MS Office skills to include Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities and Experience:
