Job Description

Establish, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes and systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability, and develop best practices within the production process. Organize, implement, and maintain production processes. Develop assembly instructions, workmanship standards, and process documents, and ensure they are followed. Continually improve existing operations for increased quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost savings. Conduct root cause analysis and propose corrective actions for continuous improvement and resolutions to manufacturing problems including processes, machines, or programming problems. Liaise with production planner/scheduler to ensure the released assemblies have adequate programs, documentation, and processes. Provide manufacturing data to monitor and measure progress to target. Work with design engineering on DFX (design for excellence) to include design for cost, design for test, design for manufacturability, and design for assembly. Liaise with suppliers on manufacturing processes. Research and justify new manufacturing technology to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase capacity. Program manufacturing and inspection equipment. Adhere to general requirements of team members.

ResponsibilitiesEstablish, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes and systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability, and develop best practices.Organize, implement, and maintain production processes.Develop assembly instructions, workmanship standards, and process documents, and ensure they are followed.Continually improve existing operations for increased quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost savings.Conduct root cause analysis and propose corrective actions for continuous improvement and resolutions to manufacturing problems.Liaise with production planner/scheduler to ensure the released assemblies have adequate programs, documentation, and processes.Provide manufacturing data to monitor and measure progress to target.Work with design engineering on DFX (design for excellence).Liaise with suppliers on manufacturing processes.Research and justify new manufacturing technology to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase capacity.Program manufacturing and inspection equipment.Essential SkillsAdvanced knowledge of circuit card manufacturing and assembly processes together with work measurement and work standards.Intermediate knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Design of Experiments.Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.Technical writing and documentation skills.Analytical skills including research, trend analysis, data analysis, and presentation of data through charts and graphs.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, and small print.Advanced level in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).Ability to effectively communicate in all forms with others inside and outside the organization.Ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities.Ability to multitask efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related technical field.Minimum 5 years of progressive relevant job experience.Previous experience in an electronic and/or electromechanical manufacturing environment.Previous experience in an ISO-9000, or AS-9000 environment.Previous experience with circuit card assembly SMT processes and equipment including programming, setup, and operation.Work Environment

Manufacturing environment. Most of the role is on the floor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $120000.00

High Option – UPMC MyCare EPO $1,000
Mid Option – UPMC MyCare EPO $2,500
Low Option – UPMC MyCare EPO/HSA $2,800

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Mount Pleasant,PA.
