/*generated inline style */ Job DescriptionUnder the general direction of the Process Engineer Supervisor, the Process Engineer develops and optimizes methods to maintain process control and achieve significant improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and cost. The Process Engineer will also assist the site Metallurgist.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Define process controls and drive best-in-class performance in quality and first-time yield.Identifies, analyzes, and delivers on process improvement to eliminate casting and post casting defects. Six Sigma and Lean tools to aid in this effort.
Supports production to ensure attainment of business goals, including addressing quality issues, working directly with manufacturing personnel to ensure a smooth-running operation.Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.Ensures manufacturing compliance with work procedures and instructionsEnsures all work is in compliance with environmental, health and safety standards, industry specifications, customer requirements, company standards and related specifications. REQUIRED SKILLS:
Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma Tools, at minimum a willingness to learn and apply the tools.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Effective communication skills communication: Listening, Verbal and Written.Self-motivated, committed, with a bias for action that delivers resultsUnderstanding of metal manufacturing processes.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree (BA or BSc.) or higher in Engineering from four-year college or university
• 3D modeling, 3D printing, and Solidworks experience.
PREFERED EXPERIENCE:
• 3-5 years related technical experience
• A broad and thorough knowledge of investment casting technology processes and manufacturing methods.
