Job Description

The Fiberon Decking Process Engineer will be a key team member of the New London manufacturing facility as we continue to improve production output by instilling World Class Manufacturing concepts.  The Process Engineer is hands-on in process development, process controls, process layout and ergonomic design.  You will have the opportunity to work with our experts in learning our business and extrusion process. You will work with new state-of-the-art equipment and robotics while also investigating opportunities to improve older equipment.  The Process Engineer will have opportunity to continue career growth in our vibrant organization.  The successful candidate will also drive production efficiency, reduce downtime and improve quality.

POSITION LOCATION:

This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with all work performed in New London, NC.

YOUR ROLE:

Conduct research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturingDesign and plan equipment layoutConduct tests and monitor the process performance throughout productionTroubleshoot problems associated with manufacturing processesEvaluate operations and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulationsEstimate production costsIdentify, plan and implement process improvement opportunities.Optimize new systems and upgrades to existing processes and facilities.Provide leadership and support for all related processes – Extrusion.Design, maintain and optimize Human Machine Interfaces.

QualificationsB.S. in Engineering or related field5+ years in Process Improvement, profile or sheet extrusion. Composite extrusion experience a plus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years’ experience with Continuous Improvement tools such as lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 6 sigma.2+ years of functional and process engineering experience within polymer extrusion processesProcess-oriented individual with strong experience in process standardization, creating Work Instructions, SOP’s, and implementing SPC.Extremely strong Project Management skills

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $63,000 - $95,700 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.  In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
