The Metallurgical Engineer will report to Process and Quality Control manager to operate the new pyro process as a key role.
JOB PURPOSE

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead the development of Front End and Process Design Packages consisting of:Process description and key technology and risk summaryProper scaling up of laboratory data to commercial designProcess SimulationsHeat and Material Balance and Process Flow DiagramsPiping & Instrument DiagramsProcess Equipment SpecificationsCarry out commissioning work on new and existing plantContributes to all required aspects of safety reviews within business and demonstrate EHS leadership, including but not limited hazard study, risk assessment, MOC,(Risk, COSHH or equivalent in China, Manual handling etc.) for development workSupport production during the detailed design phase, equipment purchase, construction, start up and continuous improvement.Expert on the process chemistry, the operating philosophy and the process design basis for the equipment. Responsible for ensuring that the documents are accurate and kept up to date, which includes but not limited to PFD's, P&ID's, SOP, batch sheet.Develop and improve pyrometallurgical, hydrometallurgical, thermal and concentration processes in conjunction with customers, internal departments and external techIdentify and implement longer term process improvement efforts, with the overall goal being to achieve improved safety, higher yields, better production rates, larger batch size, shorter lead time and higher attainment.Understand and leverage the plant control and information systems to make improvements. Identify and implement improvements on basic control schemes and advanced process control strategies.Develop process economic studiesQuality assurance of engineering calculations, including process recipe for different input, collect and analyse output data to make improvement.Undertake bench, pilot and plant scale experimental work.Perform process/quality control trouble shooting and continuously improve existing production processes and introduce, teaming up with global technical resources, new processes.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s in metallurgical engineering is preferred .Chemical or Material is acceptable.Minimum 5 years metallurgist experience.Experience with process safety managementAble to manage multiple prioritiesStrong interplay of engineering technology and business acumen to bring value to BusinessAbility to analyse complex technical issues and develop engineering solutionsDemonstrated ability to work in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organizationOutstanding communication skills both verbally and textually across languages Ability to support the daily operation tasks, diagnose and address the issuesHow to apply:
