Process Engineer

For our highly skilled and motivated R&D organization we are looking for a Process Engineer with a pro-active mindset and good communication skills!

As a Process Engineer at Kulicke & Soffa you operate in the center of development of our high precision, high speed component mounting machines. You are working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment and are also closely collaborating with other stakeholders such as: Product Management, Manufacturing and our customers.

The role of a Process Engineer in the System Test & Process Engineering Team has an emphasis on new developments for the installed base (component mounters). You are involved in the full development cycle of the customer installed base machines and play a prominent role in defining the necessary process requirements for the installed base & new product development, needed for todays and future customer applications. This role has a direct influence on the end quality on our very complex products and solutions.


 

Specify, investigate, and verify (complex) process matters of our systems. Prepare detailed process descriptions of our pick, align and place process. Do tests on existing and new processes e.g., for output, accuracy, and process quality. Prepare equipment specifications, set up experiments, analyze test results and ensure your conclusions land in the organization. Align on improvement proposals (technical and process). Work in the process lab but also at customer sites when needed. Transfer knowledge gained to your colleagues in the field (field application engineers, customer support engineers). Define special tooling and work on process designs. Collaborate with other technical teams, product marketing, customer support and product engineering. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software or Physics. Relevant experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment and with testing and integration of complex systems. A hands-on mentality and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical skills combined with practical thinking and troubleshooting qualities. A team player spirit and enjoy working with many stakeholders in a challenging environment. A motivation to exceed customer expectations. A well-developed communication skill is fluent in English and preferably also in Dutch. Cultural awareness and can level with stakeholders all over the world. Willingness to travel other development sites or to the customers across the globe (20%).

The Team

For our Process Engineering team in Eindhoven, we are looking for an eager and motivated individual that is interested to grow and excel into our domain. The team consists of experienced process engineers, who carry out a broad range of activities, all of which focus on the processes needed for applications to be able to be produced with our component mounters. The team is part of the System Engineering department and has a dedicated process laboratory to support these activities which includes a screen printer, component mounter, oven, and inspection system.
