The Onshore Projects team delivers capital-efficient projects across key onshore operating assets, including the Karratha Gas Plant (KGP), Pluto LNG Park, and King Bay Supply Base (KBSB). These projects encompass a diverse range of opportunities and scopes, such as the $4.5B Karratha Life Extension portfolio, emission reduction initiatives, and additional third-party processing.
The Process Engineer will support the technical and assurance activities across the Onshore Projects portfolio. This role will be part of an integrated Project Office in Perth, working in collaboration with Tier 1 Engineering, Procurement, and Implementation Contractors.
Reporting To: Onshore Projects Engineering Manager
Team Size: 14 Engineers across multiple disciplines
As a Process Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Ensuring technical integrity by adhering to company and regulatory codes, standards, and good engineering practices. Developing, reviewing, and updating Basis of Design (BoDs) documents. Identifying design requirements and case maps for projects, contributing to scopes of work. Guiding engineering contractors to deliver the agreed scope of services. Collaborating with contractors to develop fit-for-purpose solutions. Reviewing process engineering deliverables and providing technical feedback. Participating in risk reviews such as HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA. Offering advice on technical integrity, including standards application and resolution of technical design-related queries (TDRQs). Reviewing and accepting As-Built safety-critical deliverables. Supporting Project Engineers in delivering projects on time and within budget. Assisting the Operations Readiness team in preparation for commissioning and handover. Providing technical support during site-based activities, including construction, inspection, and commissioning. Skills & ExperienceThe ideal candidate will possess:
A degree in Chemical or Process Engineering. A strong Process Safety mindset. Familiarity with Management of Change (MOC), JIRA, and ALIS. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively. Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams. Prior experience supporting onshore gas plants (e.g., KGP or Pluto) is preferred but not essential. Site/Asset-Based Role RequirementsIf this role involves more than 5 consecutive days at a site/asset, candidates must:
Hold a valid Industry Safety Induction (Safer Together), OR Demonstrate 12 months of oil & gas experience within the last 2 years to qualify for an "experienced worker" exemption.
