Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a self-motivated and solution focused professional to join our team as a Process Engineer. As a Process Engineer, you will work directly with R&D and our Manufacturing teams to develop new products, enhance current product offerings, and optimize these products for manufacturing. Development will include gaining an extensive knowledge of the manufacturing processes and technologies, including industry standards for printed circuit board assembly, following IPC quality standards, and multi-plant/team collaboration to develop and maintain best practices. You will also be responsible for completing process engineering specific deliverables related to Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) on-time and in collaboration with your business partners.
As a Process Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
Providing engineering support in multiple areas of manufacturing.
Specifying, developing, justifying, implementing, and sustaining assembly equipment and materials.
Improving quality, yield, efficiency, and capacity of processes in accordance with strategic objectives.
Applying statistical problem solving to identify root cause, evaluate new equipment and processes and process improvement activities.
Interpreting results and providing recommendations to management.
Keeping abreast of new developments in equipment, industry standards, best practices, and developments in assembly processes.
This job might be for you if you:
Have a B.S. in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
Have Two years' experience in process development in a related world class manufacturing company
Are able to lead a cross functional team
Are able to influence others and reach consensus
Have project management experience
Are able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Have knowledge of statistics as applied to process capability measurements
Have effective writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Preferred Qualifications
Thorough understanding of the materials used in the industry

Pay Range Data:
Associate Process Engineer, $60,800 – $95,000. Process Engineer, $69,100 – $108,100. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Our ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
