Process Engineer
Process Engineer Department: Engineering and R&D Employment Type: Full Time Location: Liberty, SC Reporting To: Process Engineering Manager Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000 / year Description In this role as a Process Engineer the candidate will ensure safe, stable manufacturing processes in a multifaceted electronics manufacturing facility via the use of statistical controls, preferably automated controls to reduce variation and prevent errors. The candidate will utilize continuous improvement methodologies, preferably 6 sigma and Kaizen tools to stabilize, improve or modify process’ to make them safe, stable, mistake proof, low scrap, efficient, lean and of maximum throughput. Must have the ability to utilize lean tools and techniques to drive down waste, redundancy, and errors, as well as value creation via scrap reduction, cost down projects, and capacity enhancements. Key Responsibilities + Process control of the manufacturing process. + Process troubleshooting with capability and experience in implementing strong, mistake proof corrective actions. + Knowledge of 8D and 6 sigma methodologies, and ability to drive projects to completion using such tools. + Experience with lean tools for cost down, waste and scrap elimination, productivity improvements. + Strong knowledge of mistake proofing + Ability to read design blueprints + Experience with optimizing productivity + Experience with Kaizen methodologies and all associated tools + Experience with 6S + Lead cross functional teams of operators, supervisors, and managers to drive yield improvement projects with a 50% reduction in year over year reductions in scrap. + Must be able to work with operators to train them with new techniques, new designs, process changes and process improvements. + Daily contact with Plant Manager, Production Manager, Quality Control, Production Control, Sales, Lab, Maintenance, and Human Resources + Periodic contact with plants in Mexico and New Bedford. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise + Background in continuous improvement + Knowledge of CI methodology, preferably 6 sigma or lean 6 sigma + Minimum of four (4) years manufacturing experience. + Excellent communication skills. + Must have good computer skills and strong knowledge of windows excel, word and powerpoint. + Minitab experience a plus + Engineering degree, preferably chemical or mechanical + 10+ years of process engineering or continuous improvement experience in manufacturing could replace the Engineering degree requirement + Full body movement/good eyesight, hearing and mental capabilities + Noisy conditions + Must be able to withstand eight (8) to ten (10) hours of constant movement. We are committed to providing a competitive and fair total compensation package for all employees. One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 per year. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining us, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company.
