Job Description
The Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems within a production environment. Their primary focus will be to ensure that products are produced efficiently, effectively, and in line with quality standards. This role requires someone who is excited to be on the floor and willing to get their hands dirty. They will be working to identify any problems and/or efficiencies and improvements. They will also be involved in machine and tool selection.
Responsibilities
+ Design and develop manufacturing processes for new products or improve existing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
+ Analyze production processes, identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, and implement changes to optimize these processes.
+ Select appropriate equipment, machinery, tools, supplies, and technologies required for manufacturing processes to achieve desired outcomes.
+ Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure products meet established quality standards and specifications. Implement quality control measures within the manufacturing process.
+ Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising product quality or safety by optimizing supply usage, streamlining processes, or reducing waste.
+ Create and maintain documentation related to manufacturing processes, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, process flow diagrams, and quality control documentation.
+ Identify and address production issues, equipment malfunctions, or other challenges that could disrupt the manufacturing process.
+ Collect and analyze data from production processes to identify trends, performance metrics, and areas for improvement. Use data to make informed decisions about process modifications.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, production workers, supply chain professionals, and management, to ensure a smooth and efficient manufacturing process.
+ Continuously seek opportunities to enhance manufacturing processes and stay competitive by keeping up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
+ Drive initiatives such as implementing 5S methodology, managing preventive maintenance, facilitating Kaizen Events, visual factory oversight, optimizing tool life, implementing shadow boards, and tracking planned vs. actual metrics to enhance operational efficiency and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
+ Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations and guidelines. Identify and address potential safety hazards within the production environment.
+ Train production staff on new processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
+ Manage projects related to process improvement, new product introduction, or facility upgrades.
+ Collaborate on the transition of new products from prototype to full-scale production, ensuring that the processes are scalable and sustainable.
+ Consider environmental factors and sustainability in manufacturing processes, such as waste reduction and energy efficiency.
Must Have Qualifications
+ Experience working as an engineer working in CNC/machining environment (developing manufacturing processes)
+ Process optimization experience (analyzing production processes, creating efficiencies)
+ Continuous improvement experience (lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen)
+ Project Management experience
+ Engineering degree

+ Precision machining experience.
+ Aerospace experience.
+ Experience selecting equipment for manufacturing.
+ Experience working with CNC Lathes.
+ 3D CAD experience.
Work Environment
The Process Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and work on a team with two other engineers.
The typical hours are 7am-3:30pm, with some flexibility for earlier start times. Engineers are averaging 45-hour work weeks.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $48.08/hr.
