Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Description

This position is responsible for developing and implementing process improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve quality, and increase efficiency. This includes leading the development of Lean Manufacturing processes and tools, analyzing current processes to identify areas of improvement, and developing and executing process improvement plans.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement Lean Manufacturing processes and tools.Analyze current processes to identify areas of improvement.Develop and execute process improvement plans.Monitor process performance metrics to ensure continuous process improvement.Work with other departments to ensure successful implementation of new processes.Create detailed documentation for all new or modified processes.Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety standards.Essential SkillsDeep experience with Lean Manufacturing and facilitation (5S, Standard Work, SMED, TPM).Deep experience with Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI, aka Lean Manufacturing Visual Daily Management, Tier 1-4 Boards).Deep experience with Project Management Office (PMO, aka more complicated Productivity/OEE Improvement projects).Automotive Industry (or similar) Quality Systems experience (APQP, PFMEA, Corrective & Preventive Actions, Control Plans).Process Engineering, lean manufacturing, process improvement, continuous improvement.Manufacturing, quality, continuous improvement, kaizen.Manufacturing engineering, Quality engineering, PPAP, Root cause analysis, Six Sigma.Additional Skills & Qualifications4-year degree (must have), engineering preferred.3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience in leading various types of projects, major equipment outages, and installation of new equipment and processes.Ability to facilitate and complete root cause analysis (8-D, 5 why) and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence.Strong computer skills, including AutoCAD, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.Detail-oriented with strong communication and analytical skills.3-7+ years in Industrial Environment with an Engineering & Maintenance focus.Preferred experience in Metal/Materials Processing, Tool & Die required.BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited University.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, techniques, and tools (e.g., 5S, etc.).Work Environment

90% of time on the floor, 10% desk work. The manufacturing environment is located in a country town. The workplace has a relaxed and fun atmosphere where people often joke around with each other. Most employees are from small-town backgrounds.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $85.00/hr.
