Your role as a Process Engineer in our distribution center is pivotal for achieving and maintaining operational excellence. By continuously assessing and optimizing the flow of goods and materials, you'll ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your contributions will be key in driving the success of the distribution center and scaling its operations effectively. Your expertise will help the distribution center adapt to changing demands and maintain high performance.
In This Role\nContinuously improve the processes for receiving, storing, and shipping goods to optimize the workflow using key functionality of the WMS\nEvaluate, develop and streamline processes to reduce waste and improve throughput, improving efficiency and reducing costs\nConduct regular time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks\nCreate detailed process maps and flowcharts to visualize integration points \nImplement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to minimize waste and improve throughput\nImplement scalable solutions to accommodate growth and increased demand\nDocument system integration points to enhance efficiency and accuracy\nFoster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and refining processes, encouraging feedback and suggestions\nRegularly review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), hold training sessions and workshops\nBenchmark against industry standards and best practices\nLeverage technology and automation to streamline operations and work with finance to produce business cases for approval and implementations\nDevelop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track efficiency and effectiveness\nUse dashboards to provide real-time visibility into key metrics\nSet SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) for each KPI\nWork with various teams to ensure cohesive and efficient operations\nMaintain detailed documentation of processes and any changes made\nEnsure all processes comply with safety and environmental regulations, conduct audits and risk assessments with mitigation strategies\nUse pilot programs to test new processes before full-scale implementation\nConduct tests and monitor the performance of processes throughout their life cycles\nOther duties as assigned by management\nUphold our core values and be a valuable member of the Four Hands team: \nBe open and honest \nReach for excellence \nAct with responsibility \nValue the whole person \nEnjoy the journey \n\n\n
The Ideal Person\n4+ years of prior experience using process engineering; diagramming, process controls, analysis, creating process flows, and identifying gaps and opportunities\nBS Degree in Engineering or related field\nExperience in manufacturing or distribution environment in areas such as industrial and process improvement engineering and related support areas \nSignificant experience in cross-functional processes and thorough understanding of lean manufacturing principles\nExcellent communication skills and unique ability to provide direction of technical and complex issues to non-technical personnel in a manner that is fully understood and supported\nExperience in following several projects at same time with multiple deadlines, track record of successfully completing projects on time\nDemonstrated knowledge and experience in leading process improvements through 5-S and other work balance and labor-saving initiatives\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, and procedure manuals\nAble to work cross-functionally to gain cooperation and efforts needed to deliver project on time and on cost targets\n
