Job Title: Process Engineer
Job Description

This role involves developing new manufacturing processes for both R&D and production, specifically for III-V materials (such as GaAs, InP, InGaAs, GaSb) used in the fabrication of infrared detector arrays. The engineer will be responsible for creating and implementing new processes, using design of experiments to enhance process yield, troubleshooting issues, and suggesting improvements. Thorough documentation of all process steps and training of other operators, technicians, and engineers is required. The role also involves collecting and interpreting inspection, metrology, and test data, and presenting solutions to internal scientists and management.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize processes for manufacturing optoelectronic devices.Create semiconductor wafer processes using III-V materials (InP, GaAs, InGaAs, GaSb) for optoelectronic devices.Generate process travelers and work instructions with clear guidelines.Monitor processes and document notes via process travelers.Conduct designed experiments to improve process reproducibility and yield.Participate in device test data reviews and suggest process improvements to enhance device performance.Provide oversight for engineering and operator activities.Essential SkillsProficiency in using nanofabrication equipment such as photolithographic steppers, metal deposition systems, wet/dry etching machines, SEM, and plasma deposition machines.Experience in designing and executing experiments to optimize processes and improve yield.Ability to apply statistical methods to control and improve manufacturing processes.Extensive experience in microelectronic semiconductor fabrication techniques and wafer handling.Over 5 years of experience in microelectronic semiconductor fabrication and wafer handling techniques.Proven track record in developing solutions to process development challenges.Ability to analyze data related to semiconductor device performance.Experience in developing and executing design of experiments.Skilled in conveying data analysis accurately and concisely, and in developing and delivering presentations.Experience in creating reports, documenting tests, and developing and reviewing process work instructions.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to handle small, fragile parts with tweezers.Strong attention to detail.Experience in mask design and with mask design software.Program or project management experience.Ability to mentor team members.Effective in a fast-paced team environment.Strong organizational and communication skills.Excellent writing skills and proficiency with computer applications (MS Office, MatLab).Experience in MES, computer programming, and software development.Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.Work Environment

Laboratory and Cleanroom Settings: You’ll spend a significant amount of time in cleanrooms and laboratories, working with advanced nanofabrication equipment and semiconductor materials. This environment requires strict adherence to safety and cleanliness protocols.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $62.50/hr.
