Process Engineer II

Job Summary

Your goal is to provides process engineering services within our Flavors plant in Carrollton, TX. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Consults with and provides guidance to Manufacturing teams. Decisions may be made on how to most efficiently and effectively perform process engineering activities. A typical problem-solving activity includes determining the cause for producing product outside the specification limits and developing corrective action. This role is 100% on site.

Job Responsibilities:

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for scoping, costing and implementation of plant improvement and Capex projects to include areas such production, warehousing,  process control, environment, safety and sanitation.  This includes evaluation of equipment and processes in order to make improvements to the rates, cost and on-stream factors.Responsible for design and implementation of process/product development projects.  This will provide cost analysis, feasibility, design of production trials, and scheduling of key activities  in collaboration with CoE and QualityProvide technical support to Operations for problem solving and troubleshooting activities relating to product quality and production rates.Assist in new product introduction, including coordination with COE, Quality and Production.Assist in developing accurate, well defined process parameters and serve as the team leader for the Process Review Activities and support Task Risk AssessmentsAssist in developing operating procedures for plant equipment and process.Assist in training of operating personnel in principles of unit operations, process control, engineering, maintenance and proper operation of equipment.Assist production in optimizing processes for the purpose of reducing cost and increasing product quality.Assist maintenance in evaluation of equipment repairs, OEE and procedures.  This is to include evaluation of parts for optimal performance.Regular attendance and high level of engagement is an essential function of this position.Compliance with applicable company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is required.Ensure adherence to all management systems including, FSSC 22000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and Food Safety, with an understanding of  IFF Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and procedures.  Responsible that these policies and procedures are implemented throughout the organization and all related activities under the position’s jurisdiction.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in chemical/mechanical engineering, or related area.  3+ years' experience in a food, pharma or high care manufacturing environment. 3+ years’ experience in project managementLean Six Sigma certification is an advantageComputer literacy including Windows, drawing and project management packagesOccasional travel may be required
