A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROCESS ENGINEER II
As a Process Engineer II, you ensure that our manufacturing facilities run smoothly every day while proactively planning for future needs and growth. You develop new routers, bills of materials, and inspection instruction sheets as well as participate as a member of the material review board. Using statistical process control (SPC) methods, you lead and implement process improvement initiatives for our manufacturing operations. You also evaluate the frequency of inspections as well as develop inspection and gauging methods.
Additionally, you are involved in the development of our medical devices by reviewing product designs, coordinating and conducting pre-production reviews, and managing the manufacturing details of new product releases (NPRs). You also assist in our efforts to correct and prevent customer complaints as well as execute validation protocols. You feel great about increasing value in our manufacturing facilities by bringing solutions to complex problems and finding ways to improve our processes and medical device products!
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science degree in engineeringExperience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or related softwareBasic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Understanding of statistical tools such as control charts and capability analysis systemsKnowledge about quality management system standardsUnderstanding of risk management and the creation of tools such as failure mode & effects analysis (FMEA)3+ years of engineering experience, as well as experience with CNC machining processes or in the medical device industry, is preferred but not required. A basic understanding of validation, production part approval process (PPAP), or advanced product quality planning (APQP) would be a plus.
