As a Process Engineer Intern, you will work from our Corporate Offices in Richmond, VA identifying new opportunities within large projects to drive continuous improvements utilizing Lean concepts.  Partnering with operations to identify opportunities and influence up to the manager and director levels to drive change that differentiate ourselves in the marketplace and shape the future of our company and the industry as a whole. 

 

As a Process Engineer Intern, you will spend your time: 

Collaborating – partnering with leaders across the organization to learn about our business and identifying creative ways to solve problems 

Innovating – being bold in the pursuit of excellence and identifying opportunities to leverage your expertise to drive meaningful impacts to the business 

Working with store teams and store management to determine and understand critical processes 

Possible store visits/minor travel involved (dependent on company travel policy at time of internship) 

Involvement in key areas will include: 

Streamlining processes 

Facility Planning 

Work Measurements (Time Studies) 

Production Planning and Inventory Control 

Support and manage Engineering documents

Ideal Qualifications: 

The position requires strong analytical and organizational skills 

Ability to identify and conduct root cause analysis to problem solve 

Ability to objectively analyze a complex situation and make a well-informed recommendation through effective communication 

Top-caliber critical thinking skills and intensely curious personality 

Ability to work both independently and in teams 

Strong academic performance and a history of achievement (scholarships, awards, honor societies) 

A history of achievement and aptitude demonstrated by a strong academic performance in an Industrial Engineering four-year degree program
