We are driven to innovate with a clear purpose in mind: to enhance the eating and drinking experience, nourishing the people and communities we serve.The Process Engineering Manager is responsible for analyzing, understanding, and optimizing the key inputs and outputs of current manual processes and translating this information into VOC for advanced automated solutions with built-in error-proofing mechanisms. This role involves managing a team of process engineers and technicians focused on assessing process capabilities, applying statistical process control (SPC), and collaborating with the Automation team to transform manual operations into efficient, automated processes. The Process Engineering Manager will work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and automation teams to drive the successful integration of automation technologies and support continuous improvement efforts.
What You’ll Do
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and manage a team of process engineers and technicians focused on process analysis and automation transformation.Provide mentoring, guidance, and professional development opportunities to enhance team skills in process capability analysis and automation.Set performance objectives, monitor progress, and conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure team success.Manual Process Analysis and Optimization:
Analyze existing manual processes to understand key inputs, outputs, and current capabilities.Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other data analysis tools to assess process performance and identify opportunities for improvement.Work with cross-functional teams to map current processes, document findings, and define specifications for automated solutions.Automation Translation and Integration:
Translate manual process data into actionable insights that guide the design and implementation of automated systems.Collaborate closely with the Automation team to develop solutions that meet production needs, quality standards, and efficiency goals.Oversee the transition from manual to automated processes, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and maintaining process integrity.Continuous Improvement:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reduce variability, and improve product quality through automation.Implement best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process controls for automated systems to maintain consistency and reliability.Drive process optimization efforts, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to eliminate waste and enhance overall performance.Data Analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC):
Apply SPC techniques to monitor process performance, detect variations, and drive corrective actions.Use data analysis to identify root causes of process inefficiencies and collaborate with the Automation team to implement automated solutions.Develop and maintain process control charts, capability studies, and other statistical tools to support decision-making.Project Management:
Manage process engineering projects from concept through completion, focusing on the transformation of manual processes into automated systems.Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including production, maintenance, and quality teams, to ensure seamless project execution.Lead efforts to implement automation technologies that support Manufacturing 4.0 initiatives, aligning with the company’s strategic goals.Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that all automated processes comply with safety standards, industry regulations, and environmental guidelines.Conduct regular audits of both manual and automated systems to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective measures.Promote a culture of safety, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and procedures during the transition to automation.Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of process analysis, automated solutions, and performance improvements.Prepare and present reports on process capability, automation integration, and continuous improvement initiatives to senior management.Who You Are

5+ years of process engineering experience, with a focus on manual to automated process transformation in a manufacturing environment.At least 3 years in a managerial role, leading teams in process optimization and automation integration.Advanced – English / SpanishFollowing receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
