Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

 

Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Process Engineer Intern for our facility located in Blytheville, AR. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Process Engineer Intern position will provide support to the manufacturing facility. The intern will learn the essential duties of a process engineer and perform studies related to product and process improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyzes prime net yield data to maximize profitability by identifying trends and areas for improvement.Works closely with Production, Quality, and Finance teams to investigate the root causes of net yield loss and implement corrective actions.Prepares and manages Excel documents for data analysis and reporting.Proposes and develops techniques to optimize facility processes and reduce waste.Conducts time studies for various process stages to establish and refine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Measures process outputs to determine equipment capacity and identify potential bottlenecks.Maintains daily records of observations, data, and findings to support continuous improvement efforts.Collects and analyzes data to evaluate the effectiveness of existing processes, using statistical methods where applicable.Executes experiments to test and validate process improvements.Summarize and present findings, insights, and recommendations to the management teamLeads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.Performs other duties as they might be assigned.Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role OR Adherence to the hybrid work policy with consistent on-site attendance as required

REQUIREMENTS

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in a related field (chemical, mechanical, material science, metallurgy, or industrial preferred)Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointA strong team player is necessary with the ability to coordinate efforts of many individuals internal and external to the organization Ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilitiesAbility to travel to Internship Summit, hosted at one of our Zekelman Industries’ locations
