PROCESS ENGINEER - Wax Process Owner - Plant 3

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.Ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization.Ability to travel internationally 0-25% of the time.Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced degree in Plastics, Chemical, Material, or Mechanical Engineering.3 years experience in plastics injection molding or the precision investment casting industry.Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black BeltToolmaking or tool design experience, especially for moldingAssembly and automation experienceDemonstrated ability to create and deliver adult training in technical topics

This position is located in Plant 3 – Whitehall Casting Operation, and is responsible for implementing and ensuring that all WAX manufacturing processes are performed in compliance with established methods, materials and equipment specifications and that best practices are implemented.  This role is also responsible to lead improvement and technology development projects to advance the quality and costs of the process.

The Process Owner – WAX position includes both strategic vision and tactical management and execution; examples include but are not limited to:

Drives Wax Process Management and supporting  WAX Manual and WAX ASAT using the scientific method, six sigma, and productivity tools to achieve business performance goals.Ensures data-driven development and implementation of new materials, processes and equipment.Facilitates continuous improvement activities across department and supplier locations, including audits as needed.Maintains standards, specifications and other documents for all aspects of the assembly manufacturing processes.Acts as a conduit between the HES Research Center or suppliers to ensure that technology and material needs are communicated, and new technology/material is rapidly tested, qualified and implemented.Leads or supports process improvement and training activities for injection and other wax processes.Coaches/mentors team members, peers and others to grow talent.Monitors outside technology to identify and evaluate improvement opportunities.Demonstrates and coach’s safety and Howmet Aerospace values.
