We are seeking a self-motivated Process Engineer Intern to join our team in San Jose Fab who is interested in learning and exploring laser wafer processes, device data analysis, and AI defect imaging classification. In this position the engineer is responsible to develop and maintain next generation semiconductor laser wafer fabrication processes.
Wafer process robustness and chip defect reduction is a key for success of laser chip production with high device yield and low chip cost. General wafer processes include reactive ion etch, IPC plasma etch, wafer cleaning, and AI defect inspection. Intern will be assigned to a process improvement project, or a yield enhancement project that benefits to a high-volume production laser device. Intern will be working with a group of energetic engineers and Ph.D professionals, in a dynamic, highly motivated and fast paced manufacturing environment, which requires Intern be a good team player with excellent writing and oral communication skills.
In this position you will:
Develop and qualify III-V semiconductor wafer fabrication processesDesigning experiments for process development and optimization.Improve various wafer Fab processes for manufacturability and yield improvementConduct process capability analysis, failure mode analysis, and SPC review for continuous design and process improvementWork with Production/Integration Engineers to troubleshoot process issues and disposition WIPs.Perform automation and analysis of dataRequirements:
Bachelor degree in electrical engineering, materials science, physics, or other relevant major. Master degree is preferred.Knowledge on semiconductor material and device.Experience in Photolithography, Wet Etch and Plating plus.Willing to learn semiconductor wafer fab operations (Manufacturing Execution System, process and quality control, change management etc.) in a high-volume manufacturing environment is a plus.Strong analytical and problem solving, teamwork, project management, communication and presentation skills are essential for success in this position.Strong ability to work closely with others in a very cross-functional team environment.Pay Range: $27.20 - $53.25/hour
