The Process Engineering Manager plays a vital role in driving productivity enhancements, simplifying associate workloads, and optimizing store operational processes. This position calls for strong problem-solving abilities, exceptional analytical skills, and effective team management, complemented by excellent communication.

 

In this role, the Manager of Process Engineering will act as a strategic partner within the Store Initiatives group, focusing on Industrial Engineering Leadership and the development and maintenance of store labor standards. Collaborating closely with Store Operations, Scheduling, and Customer Experience leadership, this manager will provide essential data to ensure accurate budgeting and scheduling. A key aspect of success in this position involves assessing and forecasting the impacts of business decisions, enabling informed and effective action.

 

A Day In The Life:

 

Leadership

Own overall timelines for projects while providing guidance and leadership to Industrial Engineering teamCollaborate with internal stakeholders and 3rd party consulting resources to brainstorm improvement ideas and develop sharp hypotheses. Improvement ideas could come from projects initiated by store operations partners or from competitive insightsIdentify improvements to store operations through work measurement (Maynard standards), process reengineering, workstation, and material handling redesignBuild strong relationships with Field partners to coach and train in the proper definition, communication, and implementation of best practices

Process Improvement and Analysis

Identify productivity and process improvement opportunities within the current structure by providing insightful analysis and making compelling recommendations to senior leadershipCollect in-store observations, understand current operations, and collaborate with subject matter experts from corporate and in the Field to identify opportunitiesManage development and maintenance of accurate and effective engineered standards through detailed review of time and frequency studies. Manage development and maintenance of best practices for all job functions- Due Diligence of Cost/ROI-Timing assumptionsLeverage process time standards to estimate productivity opportunity of ideas that emerge during process improvement ideationUse data analysis skills to validate hypotheses or analyze improvements

Project Support

Develop business cases and outline linkage to financial performance for specific initiativesGenerate stakeholder interest to pursue ideas, secure approvals prior to implementation stageSupport business objectives and expense and throughput improvement initiatives through needs assessment, work methods flow analysis, recommendations and project implementationUse appropriate project management tools to plan, develop, and coordinate the completion of assigned tasks and deliver quantifiable resultsthe design and installation of material handling equipment incorporated into existing

You'll Come With:

5+ years of experience in projects related to process design, work measurement, productivity improvement, cost reduction and project implementation.Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related analytical disciplineSix Sigma, LEAN, or Continuous Improvement training a plusUtilize MS Excel/Access to develop tools for analysis and modelingKnowledge of statistics and probabilityKnowledge of LMS and time study softwarePreferred experience working in a retail distribution or stores environment with labor management systemsWork measurement, standard data, and predetermined time systems and tools (MOST) with an emphasis on time study expertise.Development, maintenance, and implementation of a management observation and accountability programs.Ability to lead and prioritize projects for the IE team to drive results forward.Ability to independently gather, analyze and interpret information and develop, recommend, and implement solutions while maintaining budget.Ability to analyze process elements, identify waste and efficiency opportunities
