GENERAL PURPOSE: 
As a member of the Process Engineering team, the Process Engineering Technician is responsible for ensuring process control is maintained in the plant’s front-end departments. These responsibilities include conducting regular material testing, process experiments, operator training, raw material control, and scrap data analysis.  A successful candidate in this role will work side-by-side with various engineering teams to ensure the plant meets its operational goals while maintain appropriate quality standards.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•    Collects, prepares, and analyses samples to maintain control of all slurries in the Investment department, performing material correction instructions when necessary.
•    Manages process improvement projects as assigned.
•    Develops tech card instructions for special front-end processes.
•    Develops slurry to meet slurry testing requirements for production use
•    Initiates process control experiments based on shop floor observations.
•    Troubleshoots production problems with Supervisors, Engineers and Production Leads.
•    Analyses scrap and rework data to identify cost reduction opportunities.
•    Provides technical guidance and training for operators, leads, and supervisors.
•    Performs process control and 6S audits of front-end operations.
•    Reviews and logs certifications of raw materials in the wax and investment departments.
•    Maintains 6S standards in Investment slurry lab.
•    Support the manufacturing floor when instructed.
•    Ensures ongoing communication and relationship building activities with executives and colleagues.
•    Follows established regulations, company policies, procedures, guidelines, instructions/techniques, safety practices to ensure compliance and accountability.


TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS: 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  
•    A two year technical degree; or equivalent on the job experience in lieu of a two year degree.
•    Prior production experience in investment casting is highly desirable.
•    Ability to understand and apply mathematical concepts to the job.
•    Demonstrate analytical and problem solving abilities.
•    Ability to maintain effective and professional working relationships.
•    Must be able to perform the physical requirements of this role.
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
•    Able to meet individual goals, objectives and productivity requirements
•    Able to comply with related regulations as well as company policies and procedures, including safety, and quality cardinal rules

•    Walks the shop floor to understand workflow and to interact daily with supervisors, leads, and manufacturing personnel.
•    Discuss and resolve product issues and business matters in a timely and effective manner
•    As assigned, function as an effective team member of respective projects
