Process Expert (Technician Production) is a member of the 24/7 team. The role is intended to make in-spec product per production schedule, without harming people or environment and without reliability issues through operating the process facilities following SOP, instructions, and good processing practices. The process expert is the front-line process knowledge to monitor, forecast, report, mitigate, solve, or escalate issues that could impact the 4 principles (Safety, Quality, Reliability and Engagement).
Responsibilities:Routine Activities
Conduct routine rounds (SQRE) and proactively report, mitigate, and solve emerging issues.Monitor production process (e.g. DCS, gauges, etc.)Investigate and troubleshoot abnormal operations.Maintain a high level of operational discipline pertaining to routine tasks that must be executed.Operate field equipment (e.g. valves, pumps) to perform operations tasks per SOP, SOC, special instructions (e.g. filter changes, bagging, manual activities, additions, etc.).Collects process samples for analysis.Issues safe work permitsAddresses alarms, communicates needs for bypasses.LOTO equipment and turn over to maintenance for repairs and participate in return to service of equipment.Toolbox meetingShift handover and takeover.Raise awareness to emerging risks that may impact safety, reliability, or product quality.AD-HOC Activities (as needed)
Conduct Behavior Based Observations (BBO) and communicate Haz-Recs and near Miss IncidentsParticipate in MOC, PHA, RCA etc. sessions.Provide inputs to improve SOPs.Generates ideas and improvement projects.Take part in emergency response / Initial response team as needed (optional)Attend training to improve and maintain production processes as required.Start up and shutdown of process equipment in a safe manner.Perpetuates a culture of safety quality and reliability with all colleagues, contractor and guests in the unit.Perform work in accordance to Conduct of Operations for proper hand-offs with other workgroups.Toolbox meetingShift handover and takeover.Other activities as directed by the Team Captain Qualifications:Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalentUnderstands process technology, equipment, and procedures.Technical skills1-3 years of experience in operating chemical/petroleum or manufacturing facilities with continuous processesWilling to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule including holidays, nights, and weekends.Willing to work overtime, unit outages and turnarounds.
