GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Process Improvement Intern will analyze and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in the production process by identifying inefficiencies, proposing corrective actions, and implementing sustainable solutions. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION Gain a basic understanding of the current process flow. Assess the impact of recently implemented automation, analyzing Return on Investment (ROI) and productivity improvements. Evaluate equipment effectiveness to enhance performance and reduce defects or rework in product. Analyze unplanned downtime and identify strategies to improve equipment uptime. Complete data collection and statistical analysis for process improvements. Develop, recommend, and present action plan(s) and benefits based on analytical results. Intern’s work time will be approximately 80% on the shop floor and 20% in an office.  Create and deliver a final presentation to the colleagues and leadership team of Dole Fresh Vegetables.
