Introduction:
We are seeking a motivated Process Improvement Specialist to provide support and join our Repair Center Team at Metso. In this role, you will assist in developing and improving solutions for our repair processes. This role requires knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing processes. You'll collaborate with different internal teams to support various projects.
This position is located in Mesa, AZ (USA) and will report to the Business Operations Manager.
This role does not require travel; however, may involve up to 10% of travel, if needed.
What you'll do:
• Understand and verify specification requirements for Repair projects.
• Assists team members throughout the Repair process.
• Analyze and validate solutions for existing or new products. Ascertains that new designs developed are as economical and efficient as practical.
• Carry out initiatives within set timelines while being receptive to feedback and direction.
• Maintain a positive approach toward customers, co-workers, and visitors. Maintains effective relations with others at all levels of the organization.
• Observe safety regulations and exhibit a concern for safety.
• Encourages teamwork and operates efficiently with various workgroups throughout the organization. Displays respect for others.
• Apply mechanical engineering knowledge, principles and best practices to meet customer requirements and specifications.
• Show a focus on quality, ethics, and safety and on meeting the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers.
• Utilize computer hardware and software effectively to perform tasks (i.e. Excel calculation sheets - specifically design worksheets, PowerPoint presentations, etc).
• Providing input to facilitate process improvement.
• Other tasks as assigned.
Who you are:
• Associate's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Versatility and flexibility to different engineering activities.
• Ability to apply mechanical knowledge.
• Good communication skills (both written and oral) and effective interpersonal skills.
• Solid computer skills.
• Should function effectively both as a member of a team and as an individual contributor.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted with limited supervision.
• Highly motivated team member with the ability to maintain focus in tough situations and meet deadlines.
• Needs to be capable of effectively working on several projects at one time.
• Good organizational skills and ability to organize tasks in a busy environment.
