Process Maintenance Technician 2, CMC

YOUR ROLE: As part of the Chemistry Operations team, you will work on a variety of manufacturing equipment to maintain operability and troubleshoot issues to minimize production downtime. Your work with the equipment will facilitate you to become the subject matter expert on the equipment use and maintenance. You will work both independently and in cross-functional teams on the execution of projects in which you utilize your technical knowledge. YOUR EXPERIENCE: We are seeking a process maintenance technician with experience in equipment and utility maintenance in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently to drive projects and day-to-day work tasks to completion. JOB OBJECTIVE: Perform maintenance on process equipment and utilities to ensure operational efficiency, quality compliance, and safety. Contribute to the implementation of maintenance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance. CORE DUTIES: 1. Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs and troubleshoot issues relating to process equipment and utilities. Identify root cause and recommend the most effective, efficient, and timely course of repair action. 2. Promptly respond to equipment and utility malfunctions to minimize unplanned downtime. Utilize technical knowledge and equipment manuals/drawings in troubleshooting efforts. Work closely with the impacted groups to maintain open communication regarding equipment status. 3. Assist in the execution of capital projects relating to process equipment and utilities. Support the installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment. 4. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing equipment reliability. Suggest improvements based on maintenance findings and equipment performance analysis. 5. Ensure maintenance activities comply with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements. Adhere to safety protocols and report any safety concerns or incidents in a timely manner. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including details of inspections, repairs, and replacements. 6. Work closely with the Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, EHS and Facilities departments to coordinate safe execution of maintenance activities and minimize impact on production. Communicate effectively with team members and management on maintenance status and issues. Assist with the prioritization of maintenance activities based on the requirements of other departments. 7. Identify and communicate gaps in training or knowledge of equipment system maintenance. Participate in training sessions to enhance technical skills and stay current with industry trends and technologies. Share knowledge and best practices with fellow team members. May train and develop others in the execution of activities. 8. Monitor and resolve facility and equipment alarms. Personnel will have ‘on call’ responsibilities. This responsibility may require visits to the facility during non‑business hours (including weekends and holidays). 9. Assist with requisitions and maintain inventory for spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repair activities. Assist in obtaining cost quotes and preparing cost estimates for maintenance activities and supplies. Maintain up to date information for equipment bill of materials, manuals, and drawings. 10. Perform maintenance and inspections in a confined space. Provide assistance with activities relating to equipment and equipment utilities which can include calibration of instruments, equipment LOTOTO, and change controls. 11. Understands and complies with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or relevant certifications preferred. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment and utility maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical, chemical, or similar industry. 3. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems used in manufacturing equipment. 4. Ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple projects. 5. Ability to work independently with moderate supervision and with other team members in a cooperative manner. 6. Strong safety mindset. Outstanding critical thinking and troubleshooting skills. 7. Strong organization and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively while being approachable, thoughtful, and diplomatic. 8. Knowledge, skill, and ability to use a computer for work with Windows-based operating systems. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Technical training/certification in any of the following fields: electrical, plumbing, pumps, motors, instrumentation, PLC, and HMI. 2. Experience with maintenance activities within an FDA-regulated industry. 3. Experience with SAP, Desigo, and FactoryTalk Historian. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally. 2. Ability to use respiratory protection including respirators and breathing air. 3. Ability to move around/about the facility in laboratories and manufacturing suites. 4. Ability to work in areas of limited space and ability to climb ladders daily. 5. Ability to use standard personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, lab coat, protective gloves). 6.
