12928BRJob Description:Responsibilities:
+ Support Steel Division to ensure the movement, stockpiling, inventory management, and handling of various scraps, Alloys and Desulf reagent requirements for Steel Division to meet the daily production and quality objectives as well as Immediate, mid-term and long-term goals at minimum cost, within safety and environmental guidelines and regulations.
+ Integrative focus on smoothly combining BOP and QBOP scrap, alloy needs entangled with on time delivery of above said commodities and ensuring the effective vendor activities to meet the Organizational Production plans.
+ Ensure the effective and efficient coordination and facilitates the intercompany scrap shipments in a timely Manner.
+ Ensure lowest possible scrap cost and advise, track and coordinate scrap purchases with vendors, purchasing, operations etc.
+ Effective coordination of all activities associated with the transfer of scrap materials to other Plants, entities etc., as required.
+ Work with purchasing and vendors to maximize lowest cost option for scrap mix
+ Closely work with Desulf Reagent suppliers to ensure the right quantity, quality reagents are in use for Steel desulfurization process as well as maintains a separate accounting system to monitor/track the Reagent consumption in Desulf process.
+ Ensure The required Scrap inventory and proper stockpiling to meet the Steel Division KPI
+ Communication with Corporate Scrap/Alloys /Transportations/Shipping services/Vendor discussions any others to ensure the proper plan of right quality scrap and Alloy procurement and deliveries are in place to meet the Organizational operating Goals.
+ Ensure the Incoming Scrap and Alloys are meeting the required specification aligned with USS Steel Division needs.
+ Ensure Scrap and Alloy stockpiling and handling policies and procedures are well defined documented and integrated into processes and meet internal control guidelines.
+ Ensure the well-defined practices and procedures are in place for inspections, quality checks, delivery the right quality and quantity scraps and Alloys to Steel shop in a timely fashion.
+ Ensure the inventory and accounting process are well defined and effective.
+ The implementation and application of metric, reporting systems, and Budgeting for Various Scraps, Alloys, stockpiling, handling, and Vendor Management.
+ Support the implementation of new improvement projects and Marginal saving improvement projects
+ Coordinate cross-functional communications among Steel Making / Accounting / Commercial / Transportation / Vendor activities to ensure the Effective Utilization of time and services.
+ Ensure the reporting to the management/reporting officer in timely fashion: In case of any Deviations from the Plan/potential problems/Potential shortcomings/Any other issues.
+ Support, Direct and Develop workforce to meet the Organizational skill sets within USS environmental, safety and Ethical norms.
+ Audit/optimize reagent consumptions in Desulf Operations.Due to the nature of our business, our facilities operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year.
+ Therefore, this position may require rotating shift work, as well as weekend and/or holiday work
Requirements:
+ H.S. Diploma or GED required
+ Minimum 2 years work experience supervising crews required.
+ Prior experience in a union environment or similar military leadership experience is a plus.
