Process Operations Supervisor (SYO)

That’s what we call our Subaru Love Promise®. SUMMARY Ensures vehicles released for shipping meet Subaru standards for finished vehicle quality. Observes all facets of vehicle movement and loading in the motor pool to ensure adherence to established requirements at the Subaru Yard Operations (SYO) Center. Oversees the process to evaluate damaged vehicles, repair process, and other special projects as needed. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES + Reviews vehicles in motor pool shipping lanes to ensure accurate preparation for release to transportation partners. Evaluates overall vehicle conditions including accessories, label application, applicable vehicle specification, and in-process damage. + Monitors and audits vehicle rail loading to ensure proper placement and securement of vehicles for transport in rail cars. Verifies correct destinations and adherence to applicable Subaru and Association of American Railroads (AAR) standards. + Monitors and audits vehicle carrier loading to ensure handling and securement of vehicles for transport by truck. Communicates to carrier personnel on correct operational processes. Maintains records of vehicle issues identified by carrier personnel. + Audits various areas of the operation to ensure customer standards are maintained. Observes operation processes for non-standard issues, potential problems, and areas for improvement and communicates findings to appropriate parties. + Records issues identified from motor pool monitoring activities and provides feedback as necessary to appropriate business partners. + Evaluates and determines severity of in-process damaged vehicles utilizing various inputs in order to establish appropriate dispositions. + Performs and/or coordinates the steps of the vehicle body shop process. Tracks vehicles through to completion. + Supports various group processes including corporate vehicle processing and special transport handling. REQUIRED SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS + Position will interact with multiple supply chain partners daily. Ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and leaderships skills while presenting a positive and professional demeanor. + Determined drive and is capable of motivating, inspiring and empowering others. + Strong communication skills. Must be able to clearly and concisely articulate in all communication mediums. + Superior problem solving and decision-making qualities with excellent negotiation and mediation abilities. + Organization and time management skills for prioritizing and completing activities efficiently. + Strong Microsoft Office skills. Ability to navigate and operate various web-based business systems. Ability to operate data collection scanners and programs. + Must be comfortable in a hands-on environment working directly with the product. Ability to work outdoors and in any type of inclement weather. + Knowledge of Association of American Railroads standards and Subaru technical experience a plus. + Requires accessing transportation equipment that is not handicap accessible. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 5+ years experience and Associates Degree preferred. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification required in absence of an Associate's Degree. + Experience working in automotive rail/truck loading, and/or an automotive logistics environment preferred. + Automotive/Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain degree a plus. WORK ENVIRONMENT + Schedule: Ability to work a rotating schedule inclusive 1st/2nd shift + Physical Demands: Lifting up to 40 lbs. Requires accessing transportation equipment that is not handicap accessible. (Physical Required) + Internal Work Environment: + Outdoors: All weather conditions, all times of the year inside and outside of buildings (70%) + Indoors: Indoors desk and computer work (30%). + Valid Drivers License Required + Required Travel: 5% (Off site technical Training) COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $57,500 - 80,000 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
