DuPont in Dalton, Georgia has an exciting opportunity for a Process Technician for the STYROFOAM® plant.

Responsibilities:

Meet behavior expectations in the areas of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), quality, productivity, and teamwork and actively participate in continuous improvement efforts

Interface with process control computers to optimize and troubleshoot product quality and equipment operations

Perform standard and non-routine testing of product quality

Manually set up and adjust process equipment for product changes

Safely perform manual operations such as cutting foam during start-ups/jam-ups, manually stacking and grinding foam, and filling solids additive feeders

Perform on-shift minor maintenance, predictive/preventive maintenance (PPM), breakdown repair, and scheduled shutdown/turnaround activities

Certify in all areas of the plant

Use troubleshooting skills to resolve process, product quality, safety, and environmental problems.

Follow operating discipline, procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation of assigned duties

Clear and tag equipment as required. Issue Safe Work Permits for maintenance and project work.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a High school diploma or GED is required; 2-year Technical/Trade Degree in Process Technology, Mechanical or electrical field is strongly preferred

A minimum of 2 years professional work experience demonstrating adept process operations, mechanical or electrical aptitude is strongly preferred

Must be capable of performing simple math computations involving ratios and fractions with or without a calculator

Must be mechanically inclined

Must possess strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and be capable of working in an empowered team environment

Must be able to work a rotating 12 hour schedule. Overtime is required (including weekends and holidays) to cover vacancies due to illness, vacation of other team members, and scheduled meetings.

Must have a current, valid, US driver’s license

Physical Qualifications:

Candidates must be willing and able to work in environments that include: working in tight or closed-in spaces, climbing stairs/ladders, working at heights, standing or walking for extended periods of time, frequent bending, reaching, and lifting, working outdoors in conditions that may dirty clothing or include inclement weather

Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment, such as respirators, earplugs, goggles, hard-hat, steel-toed shoes, and long sleeve FRC (safety equipment will be provided by DuPont)

Must be able to lift 50 pounds and possess full dexterity of the wrists and hands. Must be able to use hand tools and operate valves and similar equipment routinely.
