Responsibilities include operating equipment and packaging equipment to prepare industrial or consumer products.

Responsibilities:

Operate production and packaging equipment and ensure equipment runs as per company SOP’s and guidelines to meet customer requirements.

Sort, grade, weigh, and inspect products, verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement to meet specifications.

Troubleshoot and maintain equipment to meet product specifications.

Observe and troubleshoot equipment to ensure the quality and conformity of packaged products to standards.

Store and stack products in the warehouse.  Use a variety of lifting devices such as forklifts, hand jacks, etc. to stack and move products.  Ensure pallets and shelving units are properly set up to accommodate loads being stored.

Use computer software for data entry

Attach identifying labels or tags to materials or mark information on cases or packages.

Load, unload, and stack materials from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, floor stacks, and shelves.

Maintain the work area and physical plant in a neat, clean, and orderly condition.

Perform any other duties as required.

Knowledge/Skills:

Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.

A fireman’s certificate or equivalent plant operator training is an asset.

Demonstrated commitment to working in a safe working environment, including a working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Saskatchewan.

Knowledge and experience in GMPs, GDP, HACCP, and FSSC 22000 standards would be an asset.

Experience with automated bagging equipment and semi-bulk bag systems is an asset.

Ability to work on a 12-hour including day and night shift rotational shift schedule in a continuous operation facility.

Ability to perform work of varying physical demand, including extremes of posture, temperature, and height.

Ability to operate machinery if required, including forklifts, and other powered industrial vehicles.  (Additional training will be provided to successful candidates).

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and identify opportunities for improvement.

Ability to manage an important function in a complex plant environment, including strong conceptual, planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Must have the capability to interact effectively at all levels of management.

Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

Demonstrated a high degree of sound judgment, resourcefulness, initiative, and innovation in handling complex technical assignments, with minimal supervision.

General computer literacy skills with knowledge of spreadsheets, MS Word, SAP, and database applications.

Completion of background checks of all candidates is required.
