Process Owner
Job Title: Process OwnerJob Description Job Summary: Utilizing a disciplined process management approach, this position will collaborate with manufacturing operations to develop and implement sustainable and standardized pre-cast and post-cast finishing processes that will lead to high product yield. Responsibilities + Driving standardized process management using the scientific method and six sigma tools. + Ensuring development and implementation of new materials and techniques rooted in six sigma methodology. + Developing a process/manufacturing ASAT with audit plans to facilitate continuous improvement activities. + Acting as a conduit between manufacturing and engineering to ensure that technology needs are communicated and new technology is rapidly tested and implemented. + Providing specialist advice and leading projects in this area of expertise. + Coordinating and planning projects and resources with new vendors and customers. + Writing capital requests, managing costs and controlling budgets for specific pre-cast projects and objectives. + Ensuring processes are performed in compliance with methods, materials, and equipment specifications as detailed in Corporate Manuals, ASATs, and customer specifications. + Authoring and approving new and revised Activity Instructions and Product Criteria for the assigned area of responsibility. + Determining the root cause of any deviation from critical process specifications and developing a timely and formal reaction plan, including an escalating help chain system. + Participating actively in Production and NPI part meetings with primary responsibility for developing certain process parameters. + Reporting related process ASAT status on a monthly basis. Essential Skills + Process improvement + Quality engineering + Lean manufacturing + Six Sigma + Material science + Ceramics + Ceramic engineering + Industrial engineering Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelors degree in Material Science, Ceramic Engineering, or other applicable Engineering disciplines is required. Masters degree is preferred. + Ability to communicate with shop floor and management personnel + Ability to organize, manage time, and prioritize multiple tasks + Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment + Analytical and problem-solving abilities + Ability to apply engineering concepts to daily observations + Ability to apply principles of standard work + Forward thinker with the ability to innovate when the opportunity is presented + Knowledge of MS Office, with above-average capabilities in Excel and Minitab + Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing + 2+ years of investment casting industry or related industry experience preferred + Leadership experience Work Environment The work environment involves working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams. This position requires strong collaboration and communication skills to interact with both shop floor and management personnel. The role may involve coordinating with new vendors and customers, managing projects, and adhering to detailed specifications from Corporate Manuals, ASATs, and customer requirements.
