Process Quality Auditor

Basic Requirements:

High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution or two years of work experience Minimum of 3 months working in a manufacturing environment ​Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of the part number finish options. Knowledge of all the correct Labels and placements. Knowledge of the correct valve stem and orientation. Knowledge of the Appearance Criteria and usage of the Reference Scale. Knowledge of a complete roll stamp. Knowledge of Identification and Traceability.  General familiarity with quality assurance systems, practices, and documentation. Demonstrated knowledge and competencies relating to product safety. Experience in dimensional, surface finishes, and cosmetic defects of machined products Demonstrated knowledge and competencies relating to product safety. Computer skills (Excel is a minimum). 

Position Summary:  Provides quality support for the finishing department on the manufacturing shop floor.  This position reports to the Quality Manager.

Essential Duties:

Assists with manufacturing fact sheet product and prototypes. Performs and documents yearly capability studies. Performs and documents Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) studies. Performs and documents dock audits.  Performs surface roughness measurements on product as required. Notifies the Machining Supervisor of problems with a machine/product. In the absence of the Machining Supervisor, may verify product that is questionable and informs the Q.A. Supervisor or Manager.  Sorts through suspect product that is on hold that may be nonconforming and notifies the Machining Supervisor. Collects operator’s paperwork and files it in the appropriate files.  Inspects process sheets during filing for completeness. Informs the Machining Supervisor of inspection sheet discrepancies (e.g. not complete). Ensures that the most current revisions of Operation Sheets are distributed and that the old revisions are removed and destroyed from all shop floor locations. Assists with end of the month filing of process sheets, lot cards, etc.  Completes visual inspection of all machine lines once a day and documents findings. Collects and calibrates all bead seat gages and bore mics. Repairs / replaces gauges when needed during the shift and documents on log. Performs monthly process audits, work instruction audits and gauge audits.
