What You'll Do:

 

As a Process Safety Manager, Americas Region, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by providing tactical leadership and subject matter expertise in process safety and risk management for the Lubrizol facilities located in the Americas region (North America and South America) in alignment with the Global Process Safety Manager and broader HSES (Health, Safety, Environmental, & Security) organization. This includes providing direct tactical support to drive continuous improvement and industry best practices towards safe, compliant, and responsible operations in support of One Lubrizol.  The Process Safety Manager, Americas Region can be located anywhere in the Americas region where we operate a Lubrizol facility. The Process Safety Manager, Americas region is accountable for providing transformational governance and support in the region to achieve HSES objectives and best in class performance in alignment with corporate goals and objectives. This is a skilled professional who has experience in process safety, engineering, and risk management. The Process Safety Manager, Americas region is responsible for supporting the implementation of corporate and regional programs, initiatives, and management systems in support of the broader organization

 

What We're Looking For:

Develop, implement, and support standardized process safety and risk management programs at the Lubrizol facilities within the Americas region with the goal to drive best-in-class performance and capabilities with respect to Process Safety. Provide Process Safety Engineering/consulting support related to the process safety elements including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Mechanical Integrity (MI), Pre-Start Up Safety Review (PSSR), Process Safety Information (PSI), Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety training, contractor safety and risk mitigation. Ability to facilitate PHA’s for processes and projects to meet and exceed OSHA PSM and Responsible Care requirements. Support Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Human Reliability Analyses, Siting Studies, and other Process Safety functions to support PHA recommendations. Support Lubrizol knowledge on process safety developments and best practices, high-profile process safety risks, improvement initiatives and issues, site PSM implementation and activities to support mechanical integrity. Ensure process safety performance improvement via leading and lagging KPIs. Assess state of process safety culture and develop plans for continual improvement. Support the development and execution of Lubrizol’s Process Safety Management goals and strategies.  Create competence requirements and curriculum for Process Safety training for new and experienced employees Monitor and report Americas Region Risk Register High Risk items and work with sites to create plans for elimination or mitigation. Monitor and report on Americas Region open PHA action items and work with sites as needed to create plans for closure. Support sites by creating relationships with third parties to maintain and update process safety information (including chemical reactivity databases, PSM procedures, P&IDs, PSV sizing documents, and Process Flow Diagrams) for sites without dedicated personnel for those activities. Participate on Incident Investigations and other HSES related teams, including root cause determination. Must be able to travel ~25% of time. 

 

Skills That Make a Difference: 

Bachelor’s in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related technical field 10+ years of chemical process industry with Process Safety Management experience. Proven success in working individually and in teams. Detail oriented, with uncompromising safety principles. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge in operations and maintenance for chemical processing equipment such as pressure vessel, piping codes, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, etc. Considered a plus: Formal Root Cause Analysis training Experience with ePHA and PHA Works RA Experience using SAP, PI and/or DeltaV software. Knowledge of ASME, API, NFPA and OSHA regulation
