About the role The Process Specialist is responsible for developing, documenting, implementing and monitoring processes used in the manufacture of Network Solutions’ injection molded products. Assures ongoing, timely production of quality, cost effective products. Performs continuous improvements that support the goals and objectives of the Injection Molding Department, including safety, quality, and productivity. Responsibilities Develop and maintain robust and efficient injection molding processes for new and existing molds, utilizing scientific molding principles, which include creating documentation for each process Troubleshoot existing processes and make improvements for optimum processing, verifying all processes are within allowable parameters Test and evaluate new and modified molds, including prototypes Assist and provide input with new tool design and modifications Test and evaluate new and modified materials Monitor Operation Equipment Efficiency (OEE) to ensure set standards are achieved or exceeded Perform Design of Experiments (DOE’s) to determine process parameters Identify and conduct critical process improvements Assist with training of mold room staff and production employees, if applicable May assist with molding machine preventative maintenance, machine operations (start-ups, setups) and molding machine repair, as required May serve as lead Support a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures Support a quality work environment by following quality policies and procedures as directed by Qualifications Knowledge of injection molding machine controls Possess broad scope knowledge of injection molding equipment with advanced troubleshooting skills Knowledge of material drying and blending Knowledge of scientific molding practices Ability to set and pull molds Knowledge of proper Lockout / Tagout procedures Knowledge of DOE’s and data analysis Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Ability to perform inventory movement transactions Understanding of basic math skills Must be able to use measuring equipment, including calipers Ability to read drawings & blueprints Ability to use judgement to identify potential safety hazards Ability to use judgment related to identifying and segregating non-conforming materials and components Ability to successfully train others Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment or work independently Ability to interface with support personnel from engineering, tool room, and quality Physical Demands Work is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor where noise levels may be moderate or high Eye, foot and hearing protection is required in marked areas Lifting weights up to 30 pounds may occur regularly, with a potential for lifting weights of up to 55 pounds on an occasional basis There is potential exposure to extreme temperatures The occasional physical demands of the position include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and eye/hand/foot coordination May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time **This is designated as a Safety Sensitive position** Education & Experience High School diploma or GED required Six (6) years’ experience in plastics injection molding processes Master Molder Certification or similar certification preferred Travel Up to 20% may be required What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical (with an HSA option), Dental, Vision and Rx coverage beginning the 1st day of the month following your start date 401(k) Program with employer matching contributions.
