ABOUT THE JOB

In this role, you will drive efforts to streamline the manufacturing process, ensuring projects get through the process as quickly and accurately as possible, while meeting Safety & Quality expectations. You will be responsible for finding ways to improve manufacturing quality, increase standardization, maintain departmental work instructions, and determine which processes can be automated.

The ideal candidate will have a background in managing internal projects, will understand how to incorporate business flow best practices, and will have experience finding ways to add value to a Company’s Brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify manufacturing processes that can be automated to increase production output.Determine ways to improve repeatability for high volume and/or high-risk projects.Spearhead approved continuous improvement projects.Work with production, installation, quality, engineering, and drafting/cutlist to implement process changes.Create and maintain work standards and work instructions within your assigned functional area(s).Track and maintain production metrics to support ROI of assigned projects. Ensure quality control processes are established and followed throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.Work with Engineering R&D to ensure manufacturing changes are incorporated into future product releases.Act as a member of the change management process for assigned product types.Provide suggestions for ways to better display project information (ex. Bills of Material, Packing Lists, Machine Drawings, etc.) to decrease rework, increase overall quality, and decrease intellectual setup.Review production installation instructions, as assigned.Support manufacturing corrective action initiatives.Document the product mock-ups process.Support Associate product training, as needed.Act as a change agent, gaining buy-in from Associates and facilitating best practices, as needed.Maintain a ‘role model’ reputation throughout the Company, while also creating good working relationships with all plant and office personnel.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:  

3 - 5 years of related experience, in areas such as: (1) Solar Innovations Products and/or Manufacturing Process, (2) Experience in a similar role, (3) Experience in a related industry, and/or (4) Secondary education in related fieldExperience in a leadership role or non-leadership role that influenced people, process, and/or product changesStrong Computer Skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

2 or 4-year degree in related field (ex. Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)Experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six SigmaExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with AutoCAD, Solidworks, or other 3D modeling softwareAbility to communicate effectively and professionally, while driving cross-functional resultsManagement of internal improvement projects and related resourcesWorking knowledge of general business acumen (ex. exposure to production planning, costing, budgets, etc.)
