Process Supervisor

Purpose of the Position:
Prioritize process and business needs and align Division Engineering activities and resources to deliver the business needs. Lead and support continuous process improvement activities, problem-solving sessions, new product or process receivership, cost reduction projects, and equipment installs and debug. Lead discussion on mechanistic understanding of complex engineering challenges and provide guidance on the application of Engineering First Principles. Cooperate and corroborate with other plants within the division for Best Practices and synergy opportunities. Improve existing manufacturing processes, equipment, and capabilities working with members from cross-functional teams. Solve process issues through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with subject matter experts. Responsible for a Process Engineering team, supports employees and ensures performance and development capability roadmap of the team
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet or exceed safety, quality, cost, capacity, and delivery objectives. Champion safety performance; Directly responsible for driving employee engagement and compliance Manage daily production and quality issues; Quickly resolve performance issues by ensuring clear ownership of responsibilities Manage quality initiatives to improve yield and reduce production errors; Lead PCPD efforts Lead or support cost reduction initiatives Define, manage, and support continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes Identify production bottlenecks and manage resources to maximize throughput; Work with supply chain to optimize production output and achieve on-time to promise metrics Work with Engineering to identify and resolve chronic equipment and process issues Ensure effective transfer of next generation product and process technologies to manufacturing, including safety, ergonomics, 5’s, procedures, training and production capacity Lead and manage initiatives to improve OEE and reduce rework/scrap Improve visual metrics and reporting systems; Implement improved individual metrics systems Manage training and cross-training plans to ensure operators receive adequate training and support Identify and lead implementation of Lean initiatives such as SMED, 5S, iKaizan, and visual management Identify areas of inefficient operation and work with support groups to implement improvements Ensure department production capacity meets demand, both current and future
Required Skills:
Ability to multitask and prioritize work on an independent basis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Ability to work effectively on all levels of an organization Use scientific method and engineering principles to solve problems thoroughly and effectively, using well-designed and executed processes Strong data analysis and statistical skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Minitab, or equivalent Determine and recommend best solution from a series of alternatives within plant and safety guidelines Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to lead a team of engineers to achieve business goals Bilingual English / Mandarin
Desired Skills:
Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting Project management experience Cross culture team management
