Job Description
The Thermoforming Process Technician is responsible for operating specialized machinery for high-end retail and medical packaging needs. They are accountable for performing various tasks to pre-stage, setup, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot thermoforming machines & equipment as well as perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery. The Process Technician will also perform in-process inspection of parts to ensure product meets visual standards of acceptance and conformance while making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality of product to meet customer specifications and expectations. This position requires a thorough understanding of machine practices and control of processes and activities.
ResponsibilitiesKeep clean & orderly work stations; including machines and equipment by maintaining a high level of housekeeping and 5S of assigned lines and designated areas.Monitor machines for mechanical issues by visual and auditory inspection.Take corrective action and assist in problem solving for machine issues and notify the appropriate personnel.Obtain & ensure all correct stock and materials are used at all times and located by machine.Perform machine line setup, lineout, and troubleshooting for production runs.Perform machinery start up and shut downs.Develop machine set-up parameters and heat profiles for production runs.Perform in-process inspection of parts and ensure they meet visual standards of acceptance and conformance.Recognize product defects and make adjustments to equipment as necessary.Review and maintain required logs, check sheets, inspection sheets, and work orders.Assist in overall maintenance of machines & equipment including minor repairs.Complete preventative maintenance requirements on machines following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshoot malfunctions, and call for repairs as necessary.Calculate dimension, size, shape, and tolerance of tooling and equipment based on specification and monitor product quality by use of visual inspection and other quality and dimensional measuring tools.Ensure all materials, tooling, and master tooling is properly labeled, segregated and/or returned pre and post production.Perform pre- and post-production tool inspections and preparations, tool install, and tool removals.Communicate job status and production issues to next shift Process Technicians, Lead, and/or Supervisor.Essential SkillsThermoformingInjection moldThermoformInjection moldedPlasticTroubleshootingPackagingMoldThermoforming Process TechnicianPlasticsMaintenance repairProductionLine setupAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentThermoforming experience preferred, open to anyone who has injection molding or plastics5+ years of experience with Set-Up or Quality ControlWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
Our facility maintains a very clean work environment with 18 thermoforming lines between the North and South sides. The North side is specifically dedicated to our medical customers.

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $83200.00
