Organization
- Promptly reports to line manager any discrepancy or issues that prevent timely and safe task completion.
- Learns new skills or refreshes existing skills to stay current with the needs of the position and to respond to a changing environment.
- Maintains internal and external customer focus.
- Emergency team role, either Scribe or trained fire-fighter.
Plant Control
- Responsible for the G&K Plants, Effluent Treatment Plant and Bulking & Blending processes.
- Undertakes CDAS monitoring of the Plants.
- Makes adjustments to operating conditions as appropriate to maintain safety operations of the Plants and the quality of the materials.
- Investigate alarms, troubleshot and set corrective actions.
- Responsible for the MPO system, washing material, sampling, transferring of material to boiler house.
- Responsible for the GWL, HCWL, AlCl3 upgraded waste systems.
- Analyse and interpret data using a number of analytical techniques. These will include wet chemistry techniques (Karl Fischer, Titration) and GLC analysis (preparation of samples, input and interpretation of results)
- Undertakes tasks efficiently, these entail some manual handling, and in accordance with relevant Procedures, Work and Operating Instructions.
- Works to specified Safety/Housekeeping standards, particularly regarding wearing of PPE.
Documentation and SAP
- Accurately performs detailed SAP transactions.
- Booking material movements and batches in SAP.
- Dangerous goods awareness trained (tanker loaders, Sea & Road).
- Issuing relevant paperwork for loading / unloading of tankers.
- Record analytical data into Database.
Material Handling
- Running materials through Filling Lines into drums and IBC’s, including correct labelling.
- Collecting & charging correct material into specified bulk tanks from listed bulk sheets.
- Washing/cleaning units for change of products.
- Forklift truck movement of materials.
- Loading / unloading of tankers.
- Sampling and labelling of finished products and raw materials.
Required Skills:
IT literate, including knowledge of Office based systems3 years minimum experience in Chemical ProductionExperience with Process Safety Management SystemsExperience in analysis and the ability to interpret data using a number of analytical techniques. These will include wet chemistry techniques (Karl Fischer, Titration) and GLC analysis (preparation of samples, input and interpretation of results)Preferred Skills:
HNC or above in Chemistry, Process Chemistry or engineering discipline.Fork lift truck licensedGood computer skills, including good knowledge of SAPChemical processing backgroundRequired Experience:
