Process Technician
**Job Title: Process Technician** **Job Description** The Thermoforming Process Technician is responsible for operating specialized machinery for high-end retail and medical packaging needs. They perform various tasks to pre-stage, set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot thermoforming machines and equipment. The role includes performing routine preventative maintenance on machinery and in-process inspection of parts to ensure product quality and conformity to customer specifications. This position requires a thorough understanding of machine practices and control of processes and activities. Process Technicians typically manage 1-2 machines and communicate with the 1st shift operator, supervisor, and leads during shift changes. **Responsibilities** + Keep clean and orderly work stations, including machines and equipment by maintaining a high level of housekeeping and 5S of assigned lines and designated areas. + Monitor machines for mechanical issues through visual and auditory inspection. + Take corrective action and assist in problem-solving for machine issues, and notify the appropriate personnel. + Ensure all correct stock and materials are used at all times and located by the machine. + Perform machine line setup, lineout, and troubleshooting for production runs. + Start up and shut down machinery. + Develop machine setup parameters and heat profiles for production runs. + Perform in-process inspection of parts to ensure they meet visual standards of acceptance and conformance. + Recognize product defects and make adjustments to equipment as necessary. + Review and maintain required logs, check sheets, inspection sheets, and work orders. + Assist in overall maintenance of machines and equipment, including minor repairs. + Complete preventative maintenance requirements on machines, troubleshoot malfunctions, and call for repairs as necessary. + Calculate dimensions, size, shape, and tolerance of tooling and equipment based on specifications, and monitor product quality using visual inspection and other quality and dimensional measuring tools. + Ensure all materials, tooling, and master tooling are properly labeled, segregated, and/or returned pre and post-production. + Perform pre- and post-production tool inspections and preparations, tool installs, and tool removals. + Communicate job status and production issues to the next shift Process Technicians, Lead, and/or Supervisor. **Essential Skills** + Thermoforming + Injection molding + Plastics + Troubleshooting + Packaging + Maintenance repair + Production line setup **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School Diploma or equivalent + Thermoforming experience preferred, open to those with injection molding or plastics experience + 5+ years of experience with setup or quality control **Why Work Here?** Enjoy numerous benefits including paid holidays, paid time off, paid sick time, company-paid long-term and short-term disability, company-paid basic life insurance, an employee assistance program, tuition reimbursement, and an employee referral bonus program.
