Chemours currently has an opening for a Process Technology Intern (Plant Operator) at our Corpus Christi Plant located in Ingleside, TX. The Corpus Christi Plant Production Technician accomplishes, with a minimum of supervision, a wide variety of area production assignments. This position will shadow, learn and participate in daily production activities with other qualified production technicians.  

Location: Corpus Christi, TX

Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week 

Preferred Term: Spring 2025

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Interns will be required to review and follow all Chemours EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) and Maintenance Work Procedures. They will also be required to shadow a Chemours Mentor, always, and will have an established scope of work containing, but not limited to, the following job tasks. 

Follows and reinforces all safety, health and environmental rules, policies and regulations Assists with start-up, operates, maintains and shuts-down equipment per operating procedures  

Assists with preparation of equipment for maintenance work

Involved in pulling samples and performs field analysis and/or delivers them to the central laboratory  

Monitors process variables via DCS, makes minor adjustments to maintain operation within “Standard Operating Conditions” (SOCs), troubleshoots process upsets and responds appropriately to return process to within SOCs.  

Uses a variety of hand tools (e.g., pipe/valve/torque wrenches, band saw) meters (e.g., O2, flammability, gas tech) and rescue and HAZMAT equipment when needed.  

Records daily activity in shift logs and provides proper relief to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the plant  

Patrols assigned area to visually inspect, monitor equipment and process conditions to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and environmental regulations  

Assists with routine maintenance work  

Reviews procedures and drawings per required guidelines  

The following is required for this role:

Currently enrolled in a 2-year PTech program at DMC, Adequate relevant field experience may be considered. 

The employee must be able to wear industrial safety equipment; hard hat, gloves (both leather and chemical), hearing protection, FR clothing, Tyvek suit, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, and goggles 

Must be able to lift to 50 pounds frequently without accommodation and be able to stand for extended periods of time 

Must have excellent manual dexterity and visual acuity and can stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, reach overhead, and climb multiple flights of stairs. 

Must have familiarity with manufacturing equipment, such as pumps, piping, valves, filters, conveyors, etc.
