BASIC PURPOSEThe primary function of the Processing Associate III is to assist The Salvation Army in the operation of the Thrift Store for the Reno Adult Rehabilitation Program. This position description is a broad outline of responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive donated goods and process them in the most time and space effective manner. Sort, clean and price donated goods. Determine merchandise quality and send to collectibles for further processing if warranted. Handle all merchandise per policy. Discard items with inappropriate or suggestive messages, cult slogans, alcohol promotions, drug abuse or humanism. Keep work area clean and orderly. Follow orders from supervisor without direct supervision. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to follow direct orders. Knowledge of operation of simple mechanized equipment, including pricing machines. Ability to work effectively with co-workers. Strong ability to utilize high levels of time management and multitasking. Previous experience a plus.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects Ability to reach overhead Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds non-continuouslyQualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
