Summary:
The Processing Librarian is a collaborative member of the Records and Library Services team. This team provides support to approximately 1,200 internal clients in the United States and Canada. The person in this role works primarily with processing records under the business function of records management. There is potential to expand the role in the future.

Responsibilities include:
Focusing primarily on processing project and corporate records with the occasional processing of library materials
Providing records management services
Collaboratively implementing the growth of the records management program
Conveying directions to staff to access materials
Cataloging
Coordinating physical and digital retrieval of client records requests
Collaboratively developing and implementing conventions for processing and metadata entry
Analyzing, classifying, and entering metadata of project records and supporting documents
Supporting and assisting process improvements as they relate to records management
Supporting, assisting, and educating clients on records management practices and library services
Assisting with corporate legal matters as they relate to records management
Collaborating with other librarians on copyright review analysis and catalog updates
Conducting catalog maintenance
Contributing to ongoing improvement efforts in a team setting
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Three or more years of related experience working in a special library, public library, academic library, or archive
Ability to work a minimum of three days a week at Barr’s Minneapolis office
Experience with cataloging
Experience working with an integrated library system (ILS)
Experience or knowledge of records management
Knowledge of copyright in a business environment
Ability to navigate state and federal laws related to copyright and records management
Exceptional organizational skills and expert attention to detail
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Exceptional customer service and ability to build strong relationships with internal clients
Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and often proactively, with minimal oversight and supervision
Ability to safely lift and carry up to 35 pounds
Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future
Possession of a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Minneapolis, Minnesota, office.
Compensation:
The anticipated base hourly range for this position is $25–$29/hour. This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. Barr has a “no retained earnings” model and distributes all its profit to our employees through our bonus plan and ESOP.
