Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 1 year of wastewater experience required. Ability to use Microsoft Office software. ​Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Processing Tech I- Wastewater in our Torrance, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California.  We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Wastewater Operator will oversee the process needed to keep the facility in compliance with required permits.

Read charts, flow meters, and gauges to detect equipment malfunctions. Monitors wastewater plant equipment Collect samples, make process reports, and perform minor repairs on equipment. Conducts and documents all required regulatory inspections of waste areas, e.g. daily, weekly, monthly inspections. Work under direct supervision on duties and tasks that are standardized, selecting from written instructions and established procedures. Resolve routine questions and problems, referring more complex issues to higher levels. Apply basic and develop advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment, as appropriate to area of specialization. Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs.      Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis. Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.
