Basic Qualifications

2-years' experience operating machinery  Knowledge of racking, electroplating and working with inspection equipment  Experience with surface treatment.  Familiar with the operation, adjustment, and routine maintenance of all furnace controllers.  Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift/move 30 lbs. (may not exceed per EHS policies)  Must be able to stand for long periods of time  Able to work in extreme hot environment. Able to use a respirator occasionally. 

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)  Three years related experience and/or training in Processing techniques; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be able to monitor furnace and verify instrumentation.  Should be familiar with furnaces, generators and auxiliary equipment. Understand the procedures of loading, timing, heating and quenching.

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Processing Tech II at our aerospace manufacturing facility in the Fullerton, CA.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Heat treat operations of tools, dies, cutters and production parts where distortion, oxidation, carburization and decarburization must be controlled Start up heat treat equipment Change thermocouples and perform weekly systems accuracy test Is familiar with all department procedures Operates Rockwell Hardness Tester Can set up and operate the induction machine Controls furnace atmospheres as required Assists in maintenance and repair of heat treat equipment Weigh and count parts before and after heat treat process, and moves parts to next sequence Schedules furnace loads as required Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs.      Train other operators as required Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis. Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.
